Details
The Gringo SV is the Gringo S with ventilation built into the shell. You get the same classic Biltwell look and flip-up shield, plus front, side and rear vent ports and adjustable vents above the eye port that you can open or close to control airflow. Pick it over the Gringo S if you ride in the heat, sit in traffic, or just run warm.
This limited-edition 20th Anniversary colorway celebrates two decades of Biltwell. It has custom exterior graphics, an all-new brown synthetic comfort liner and a 20th Anniversary badge, and it is a small-batch release.
It is the current R22.06 model, rated US DOT FMVSS No. 218 compliant and ECE R22.06 certified by Biltwell, and it comes in three shell sizes for a closer fit. The shield is CE-certified polycarbonate with anti-fog and anti-scratch treatments, and the hinge detents let you ride with it cracked open at slow speeds.
The ABS shell sits over a dual density EPS liner, with a molded urethane pad in the chin bar. The fleece Lycra liner and cheek pads come out for washing, a BioFoam head form panel keeps air moving, and molded ear pockets take select aftermarket speakers. The chin strap closes with a D-ring and a red quick-release tab, and the hinge washers and screws can be swapped for other colors.
Good to know: the R22.06 Gringo SV does not take the old Gringo S shields, because the closure changed. Biltwell sells replacement shields in several tints, including one with a Pinlock ProtecTINT insert. R22.06 helmets can fit snugger than DOT-only models, so measure your head against Biltwell's chart first.
