Details
The Gringo is Biltwell's classic full face, a favorite with riders for over a decade, and it is the one to pick if you want a chin bar with the wide-open feel of a classic lid. There is no face shield, just a big open eye port, so you see the road the way you do in an open-face helmet. It suits the cruiser, bobber and café rider who wants a full-face chin bar without giving up the vintage look.
This limited-edition 20th Anniversary colorway celebrates two decades of Biltwell. It has custom exterior graphics, an all-new brown synthetic comfort liner and a 20th Anniversary badge, and it is a small-batch release.
This is the current ECE R22.06 generation. Biltwell rates it US DOT FMVSS No. 218 compliant and ECE R22.06 certified, built on an injection-molded ABS shell over a dual density EPS impact liner, with a molded urethane pad in the chin bar to take front impacts.
Inside, the comfort liner and cheek pads are fleece Lycra over open-cell foam, and they come out for washing or replacing. A BioFoam head form panel and ventilated padding keep air moving around your head, and molded ear pockets take select aftermarket speakers. The chin strap closes with a D-ring and a red quick-release pull tab.
Want some cover from the wind? Biltwell makes a laser-cut flex Blast Shield that covers the eye port. If you want a full flip-up shield instead, step up to the Gringo S.
Sizing tip from Biltwell: R22.06 helmets can fit snugger than a DOT-only helmet in the same size, so measure your head against their chart before you order. Accessory cheek pads are available to fine-tune the fit.
