Details

The Quantum-X is Arai's purpose-built street helmet for riders with a rounder head. If most helmets pinch the sides of your head while leaving room front to back, this is the Arai to try. This one wears the Steel graphic.

It uses Arai's Round Oval interior, which Arai describes as shorter front to back and a little wider side to side than its standard Intermediate Oval. The FCS cheek pads, layered foam on a foam spring, make it easier to get on and off and help block wind noise, and the liner is odor resistant.

The VAS Max Vision shield comes with a Pinlock-120 lens in the box, so it is fog ready from the first ride. Up top, the QVF three-position intake and QVR exhaust ducts move air through the shell, and a side vent keeps exhausting even when the front shutter is closed. The water repellent ES chin cover comes installed to smooth airflow and cut wind noise from below.

The shell is Arai's PB-SCLC construction. DOT and Snell M2020 certified. Long, narrow head instead? The Signet-X is the same idea in Arai's Long Oval shape.
