Details
The Supertech M10 is the top of Alpinestars' motocross range. It is for riders who take motocross seriously and want a lid that is lighter and better ventilated than the S-M7 and SM3. The US version is ECE 22.06 and DOT certified and has a MIPS layer.
Ampress is a graphic on the M10 shell; ours comes in Matte Black/White and Gloss Black/Yellow.
On the bike, air is the big thing: 28 ports in total, 18 intakes and 10 exhausts. The shell comes in four sizes across six fit sizes (XS to 2XL), so the helmet is not oversized on a smaller head, and the A-Head system lets you set the height and angle it sits at. Alpinestars quotes about 1,260 g in size M, 1,310 g with the side pads and 1,370 g with the visor extension fitted. The chin bar is raised and edged in soft EPS with a rubber cover to clear your collarbone, and an emergency eject system is built in for first responders.
Why the M10 over the S-M7? A carbon and aramid shell instead of fiberglass, carbon and aramid, 28 vents against 20, four shell sizes against three, MIPS, and less weight. If you race every weekend it is worth it; if you ride for fun a few times a month the S-M7 or SM3 will serve you well for less.
