Details
Alpinestars sells this helmet as the S-R7; the visor and shell read Supertech R7, and it is the same helmet. It is a carbon composite full face built for sport riding on the road with track days on the side, and it is DOT and ECE 22.06 certified.
This one comes in Solid Gloss Black, Zeal Gloss Yellow Fluo and Solid Matte Black.
On the road it is light: Alpinestars quotes 1,390 g (3.06 lb) in size M. The A-Head pad lets you tune how deep and at what angle the helmet sits. The cheek pads have channels for glasses, an emergency release, and a hydration tube channel, and every lining comes out for washing. The whole top vent section slides back to open three air channels, and air from the chin vents is aimed at the inside of the shield to keep it clear. You get a 220 degree side view and 57 degrees vertical.
Pick the S-R7 over the R10 if you ride mostly on the street and want a lighter, simpler helmet that is ready for the Alpinestars A-Connect communication system (sold separately). Go R10 if you need FIM homologation for racing.
